Twin
Cities Regional Science Fairs - education made practical and
fun!
The Twin Cities Regional Science Fair
(TCRSF) offers an opportunity for students to
participate in a premiere educational Fair. TCRSF is open to all public,
private, online and home schooled students in grades 6 – 12 in the
four counties of Ramsey, Hennepin, Washington, and Dakota. (Students in
Anoka County compete in the Central Regional Fair held in St. Cloud,
MN.) Over $55,000 in scholarships and prizes were awarded
last year to "Promote Future Scientists and Engineers," plus
additional competitions which provide thousands of dollars more in
scholarships and prizes.
The
Twin Cities Regional Science Fairs are affiliated with the Minnesota
State Science and Engineering Fair and with
the
International Science and Engineering Fair
(ISEF).
Currently in our 72nd year (2009 was
our 71st fair), the Twin Cities Regional Science Fair began in 1939.
TCRSF affiliated with the Minnesota Academy of Science State Science
and Engineering Fair. TCRSF students had to win at state to be able to
compete at the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF).
In
1974, TCRSF affiliated directly with the International Science &
Engineering Fair. In 1993, TCRSF
held the first Annual St. Paul Science Fair, which affiliated with
directly with ISEF. The St. Paul Science Fair is open to all students
residing and attending school within the St. Paul City Limits. In 1995, the TCRSF board held
the first annual Western Suburbs Fair, affiliated with ISEF. The Western
Suburbs was defined as all students whose school's district headquarters
is west of I-35W. The Twin Cities fair was redefined as all students whose
school's district headquarters is east of I-35W. Students who live and
attend school within the city limits of St. Paul participate in the St.
Paul affiliation.
The TCRSF is a non-profit organization
under the jurisdiction of a board of directors and is funded
solely by our sponsors and contributions. TCRSF is staffed entirely by volunteers. We
can always use more help! Contact us for more information.
