All projects
require ISEF forms 1, 1A, Research
Plan, and 1B, plus an Abstract once the work is completed. The
Research Plan (text document) must include:
- Question or Problem being
addressed
- Hypothesis/Engineering Goals
- Description in detail of
method or procedures used including your experimental design and
data analysis plan
- Bibliography including at least five (5)
major references (e.g. science journal articles, books, internet
sites) from your literature review. If you plan to use
vertebrate animals, one of these references must be an animal
care reference
Special Projects
are those
projects involving regulations that require additional special
paperwork (such as any project using microorganisms, vertebrates,
hazardous substances, regulated substances, humans, surveys of
humans, and continuation projects). These projects must have pre-approval
before you start any experimental work from your
school's Internal Review Board (IRB) or TCRSF's Scientific
Review Committee (SRC).
An
explanation of each form can be found on the Intel ISEF website.
